Research Director

As research director for UET, Ed leads a research and development team providing hands-on expertise in all aspects of polymer development including coatings, adhesives, foams and elastomers.

As a leader in polymer applications, Ed supports the continued advancement of polymer chemistry to fit the environment of today; many of his projects are designed for use in the support of military and non-military applications.

Ed studied chemistry at Macomb University and Kansas City University.

Prior to joining UET in 2007, Ed had a distinguished career working for a diverse range of organizations, including Goodyear Aerospace, Bendix Corporation, Conap, Inc., Simula, Inc., Younger Optics, Dataproducts Corporation, and Quintus, Inc. where he did significant work in polymer chemistry earning him the title of “the grandfather of polymers” amongst many of his peers.

In the span of his career Ed has written a multitude of patents along with several trade secrets in the polymer arena where he continues to pursue his passion for quality-driven, polymer-based products.

With over 50 years of prominent experience and several patents pending, Ed is no stranger to developing polymers to meet the rigors of today’s environments. Having spent several decades in the development of transparencies, optics, ballistic armor elastomers, foams, and coatings, Ed has a very clear understanding of the requirements and expectations that his clients demand from his products.
